Established in 1972 as a children’s club with reading room facility in Kopundol at the very beginning, Friends’ club started with a motto of "better health through sports among the people of Kopundol". As such, the club was gradually developed as a local sports club. In the course of time, Friends’ club, not only limiting its activities only as a football club, involve in various social activities like reading room facility, blood donation, bicycle rally against drugs abuse etc. Friends’ club, since late eighties, has been involved in the development activities by undertaking activities in curative and preventive health issues, skill enhancement and capacity building of the local people.The whole thrust is to make more empowered and healthy citizen, at least of its locality It is due to its long history and commitment in the social and sports arena, this club got a well recognition by the people as a sport-cum social club.
